Start planning now to be in Detroit on June 11-13. Most of us have to put aside a little money all year long to make this possible. And, purpose in your heart to send a financial contribution to Wyoming Avenue to defray the cost of this event.

This effort is tied to the work of the New Life Behavior Ministries.  Please see the link below.

NATIONAL PRISON MINISTRY WORKSHOPS
The first National Prison Ministry Workshop was held in Grand Prairie, Texas. Buck Griffith and James Curry were Co-Directors. They worked with the Burbank Gardens Church of Christ at the time. Some 37 people from 5-6 different states attended the first event. The feeling was unanimous that an annual event was needed to learn from each other, network, find new out about new works and workers. In order to accomplish this, the workshop would move from place to place each year in an effort to expose more Christians to the needs and opportunities in prison ministry. Everyone would try to help the "host" congregation by sending their workers to the national gathering. This single event has done much to unite and hold the ministries together from all across the nation.

BILL'S DREAM COMING TRUE
Some will recall Bill Crossman's dream (shared when he was still locked up in Stateville, Illinois) to one day do mission work in Outer Mongolia. At the time Bill would not dare to dream that he would ultimately be reunited with his sweet wife, LuCinda, and it was extremely dangerous for Americans to be in Mongolia. The way Bill figured it - "lf I die, I die" (shades of Queen Esther) - but it will be for the Lord!

Well, God restored Bill and LuCinda's marriage and they have unselfishly spent the rest of their lives serving the Lord - especially ministering to prisoners in the United States. Through yet another evidence of God's Providence, Bill has received an invitation to go to Mongolia - no longer so dangerous - to teach English as a second language using the Bible as well as teach Bible classes at various locations. His target date to leave for Mongolia is September 10th and he will be there for one month.

Brethren have generously contributed to make his travel and stay possible this time. Bill hopes that this will become a continuing missionary journey. If so, more funds will be needed in the future.
